Product Information

The Stentor Student II is a popular choice for beginners who need a dependable instrument to support their learning. Made from solid tonewoods, this violin offers improved tone and playability compared to entry-level models. It features a carved spruce front and carved maple back, ribs and neck, with an ebony fingerboard and high-quality ebony pegs.

Fitted with a durable composite tailpiece with integral adjusters and steel core strings, the violin is built to last and easy to maintain. The outfit includes a reliable wooden bow with natural horsehair and a full-mounted ebony frog, plus a lightweight case with safety reflectors, carrying straps, and compartments for accessories and music.

This is an excellent entry point for students starting their violin journey with a well-made and well-equipped instrument.

Professional Set-Up Available

While this violin comes with a standard factory setup, we highly recommend our professional setup service for the best possible playing experience.

At Bridge Street Violins, our expert luthier carries out a full adjustment to ensure the instrument is comfortable to play and responsive across all registers. This service goes far beyond the basic setups offered by most retailers and may include:

  • Peg adjustment for smooth tuning

  • Fingerboard resurfacing (if required)

  • Top nut shaping and string spacing

  • Bridge fitting and soundpost adjustment

  • Tailpiece and string height optimisation

  • Tailored settings for improved comfort and control

Every instrument is treated with the same care we give our higher-end models, helping new players develop technique on a violin that’s properly set up from the start.

Violin Care Tips

To keep your violin in great condition and ensure it maintains its best sound, we recommend the following care tips:

  • Storage: Always store your violin in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity, as these can affect the wood.

  • Cleaning: Clean your violin regularly with a soft cloth to remove dust and rosin build-up. Be careful not to touch the varnish with your fingers.

  • String Care: Check your strings for wear and replace them when necessary. Avoid over-tightening the strings, as this can cause unnecessary stress on the instrument.

  • Bow Maintenance: Loosen the bow hair after playing and wipe the stick with a dry, soft cloth to remove rosin dust, preventing build-up and protecting the finish.

Customer Support

If you have any questions or need assistance at any point during your purchase or after receiving your violin, our team is here to help. Whether you have inquiries about delivery, setup, or care, feel free to contact us, and we'll be happy to assist.
